Month + day + century + year

ArcaSeer adds the month, day, century, and last two digits of the year, then applies the Major Arcana pair rules. This method is described by The Tarot School and used in Tarot.com’s birth-card tool.

Other tarot traditions may use a different reduction method or include the Fool differently, so results can vary between systems.

A reflection theme, not a fixed identity

Birth cards are a symbolic study framework. They do not establish personality, destiny, compatibility, health, or future events as facts. Read each linked Major Arcana page, compare the themes with your experience, and discard what does not fit.

How the calculation reduces a date

  1. Split the date into month, day, two-digit century, and two-digit year.
  2. Add those four values.
  3. For a three-digit total, add the leading two-digit number to the final digit: 144 becomes 14 + 4 = 18.
  4. If the result is above 21, add its individual digits until it is 21 or lower.
  5. Map 10–18 to that number and the number minus 9; map 19 to 19/10/1; map 20 to 20/2; and map 21 to 21/3.
  6. For a final 1–9, pair the number with itself plus 9. This method does not add the Fool as 22.

Example: 1962-02-05 becomes 2 + 5 + 19 + 62 = 88, then 8 + 8 = 16. The pair is The Tower (16) and The Chariot (7).
